“Wanderlust”, a word that need not be explained. A word that speaks for itself. I have always wondered what helps people in managing their stress. Some would meditate; some might appreciate doing the exercise, some believe that cooking is the best activity. Some dwell themselves into baking or shopping, some would go for teaching or writing.
Some people get themselves into the best stress-relieving process, SMOKING or DRINKING.
When it comes to me, I handle stress in the worst way sometimes.
If I specifically talk about myself, out of all the ways I tried to relieve myself from stress is TRAVELLING. The moment I feel like taking some time off from my daily routine, I run towards that wall of my room where I have hanged a big fat world’s map. I pinned several destinations on it. These are those places, where I will go one day.
I feel traveling is a part of me. It is like a meditation to me where I forget my stress and all the worries in the world. It makes me calm and relaxed. It is more like a therapy to me.
Whenever I come back from a trip, I become a whole different person. A very happy, light cheerful person, with a relaxed face.
The best part about traveling is meeting new people, visiting different places, to learn about their traditions and rituals. But, the moment when I feel, that my trip is successful, would be the time when the history of that place attracts me the most. It gives me immense satisfaction, a relief actually.
I am a reader. And I believe that one of the best ways to travel without traveling is by reading a book.
You are in your room, sitting beside the window with a cup of coffee in your hand and your cat on your laps purring, and you, you are in a whole other world, into a magical book world.
Here, I am mentioning some books that will rock your life like anything & will fuel up your Wanderlust. I recommend you to read them (if we share the same passion for traveling):
- The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
- Eat, Pray, Love by Eliza Gilbert
- Into the Wild by John Krakauer
